Unprofessional Front Desk Staff
I had a disappointing experience at this hotel due to the unprofessional and rude behavior of the front desk staff, particularly the female manager. As a foreign traveler, I should’ve been exempt from the tax, as I do not reside in Colombia. I explained this multiple times to the check-in staff and later requested to speak with a manager. When the manager came to assist, she was not only dismissive but also rude. She insisted that because my passport did not have a stamp from the airport, I was not exempt, despite the fact that I entered the country using the biometric system. I provided alternative proof, including boarding passes, U.S. driver’s license, and health insurance card, but she refused to acknowledge any of it. What made the experience worse was that after being there for 10 minutes, she reimbursed me the tax, only to turn around and tell me I could leave since I didn’t want to pay the tax. Her attitude was completely unacceptable and unprofessional. To make matters even more frustrating, my friends who were staying at the same hotel were checked in by a different staff member and were not charged the tax. Additionally, they were dishonest to me saying that the DIAN would reimburse me at the airport. The DIAN told me they don't handle that.This kind of inconsistent policy enforcement and disrespectful treatment of guests is unacceptable for any hotel. I would not recommend staying here unless you want to risk dealing with staff who don’t have any customer service.
