Disappointed
The most unfriendly receptionist we have ever encountered. We first walked into the hotel to a scowl. At breakfast the coffee ran out and the same receptionist said she would see to it after finishing with a guest but then 6 more guests joined the queue and three of us were waiting for coffee. Thankfully one of the kitchen staff swapped the empty for a full one. The coffee ran out the second morning and it was the same glum receptionist so we decided to do without. The heating controls didn't seem to work properly in our room. The unit said to use the wall controls which said "OFF" so the evening receptionist, who was really sweet, came up and fiddled with the buttons and we were able to increase the temp but for some reason a short while later it suddenly decided to blow cool. We turned it to "OFF" to keep the room from getting cold. Checking out was not pleasant as we were back to the sour receptionist. She just acted thoroughly miserable. The soap and lotion dispensers in our room were a challenge. They have lovely contents but not user friendly if you don't have strong hands to squeeze them at their middle. The room didn't have its own microwave and was shown the one they had down in the reception area. Our last trip was in Jasper at a Hampton Inn and the room was bigger, had a microwave and the staff were super friendly. Super breakfast and staff had lovely waffle maker with staff to help. Hilton has 2 pancake machines taking up space & don't seem popular.
