1. location: Good. close to many subway stations including Grand Central.
2. staff: Clumsy and Blunt.
The check-in staff was smiley and nice, but she forgot to mention that I had to collect complimentary bottles of tap water at the front desk every day myself, she did not provide the Hotels.com Silver member special amenities, and one the the card keys was not activated properly.
The second front desk staff that I spoke to was quite busy and seemed exhausted and underpaid, she was blunt and made me feel uncomfortable.
However, the cleaning lady and the door man were quite friendly and provided good service.
3. facilities: Outdated.
The elevator buttons wouldn't work as you expected. For instance, you press going up with 7F and 2F, then it will go straight to 7F and down to 2F. Never seen such a thing before except for couple of times at this hotel. Also the key card wouldn't always work.
And the room had poor ventilation and the furniture and interior were worn out.
4. room: Large and Comfortable, but needs improvement.
Clean despite age,
free Coffee from Wolfgang Puck was nice,
Toiletries seemed pretty low-end.
Rather poor sound-proofing between bathrooms.
No ventilation in bathroom, leaving the room musty after shower for hours.
* billing(FYI): The hotel deposit has not been cancelled yet after more than a week from check out, this can happen, but usually I get it back within a few days.
