Comfortable, but expensive area and poor breakfast
First, the pros; The hotel was comfortable, looked nice. The room was very nice. Even though we ordered a classic suite, we got a luxury suite with a jacuzzi and a private balcony with a waterfront view. The room contained a microwave oven and a small refrigerator. Housekeeping came every day and left the room spotless. The location is superb, only a couple of minutes walk to the beach, 15 min walk to two small malls. A lot of restaurants around. Now, cons; The room came with full English breakfast. That means one egg, 1-2 small strips of bacon, a tiny 2 inch sausage and 1,5 slices of toast. You can get an "extended" breakfast for an additional $9 USD per day, which means two eggs and slightly more bacon, but still not what I would call a proper English breakfast. Not enough food, no baked beans or anything. Except for fast food (Dominos, KFC), expect to pay at least 100 EC ($38 US) per person for the main course at the restaurants around. One place, the FireGrill, offered early bird meals for about EC 50 per person, though ($19 USD). That means sitting in the bar area, and only a limited menu, though. The two malls offer some beach clothing and overpriced souvenirs, but there's a supermarket and a pharmacy as well.
