I have stayed here before, but this time I had a room in the front on Vine Street. The noise from the street is very loud, and to me, a big problem. It starts before 6 am and lasts deep into the night. I did not notice this previously when I stayed on the hotel side. As I was staying three nights, I asked if I could move to the side or back of the hotel, but they said no, as they were all booked up. I was not convinced they could not have accommodated me. I asked if they had ear plugs, and they didn't. I purchased some nearby, and they helped, but I still was awakened by the traffic before I wanted to get up. I will make sure I am not in the front, if I stay there again.
This is a very bare bones hotel, with pretty much zero amenities. The courtyard is pure and very plain cement. It seems well overpriced for what and where it is. This is a borderline sketchy area. The rooms were apparently remodeled a year or two ago, but my room had a few spots showing wear and tear. It appears the remodel was “more show than go.” I did think the cleaning staff did a pretty good job.
For personal reasons, I wanted to be in this particular area, and there are no other hotels at all nearby. I suppose this is the main attraction. I am not sure what else this place has to offer.
