This place is stuck in a time warp...
The staff is friendly and hard-working, but the entire hotel needs a major facelift (inside and out). Both televisions did not work because the remote controllers didn't pair correctly. - not good on Super Bowl Sunday. The furniture is 1960s vintage and needs to be tossed. The mauve color of the paint is really dated. The elevators need a refresh (tarnished brass conrol panels are a giveaway). Seating around the fountain would be nice, new carpeting is needed and fixtures in bathroom have cracks, and the A/C gurgles and doesn't really cool effectively - not a hotel for Summer time in my opinion.. Hot water was not really "hot" in the morning - likely need a bigger and newer system. On the positive side, the besd were comfortable, although a long black har on my pillow was a turn-off. We only stayed one night and do not plan to stay here again. We travel to Tucson at least 3 times a year from Phoenix and there are other options in this price range or slightly more that are worth the price.
