Room with a View
We were so happy with our hotel choice Sonder Casa Luz! The location was perfect - just close enough to good tourist attractions but also a "local" feel with all the university students around. Our check in was easy breezy. Beds were comfortable and there were plenty of pillows for those of you like me who need multiple pillows. Our view was fantastic and we had a little balcony just big enough to stand on or pull a little chair out on. Thank goodness for the soundproof windows because this is a bustling street but at night we didn't hear a thing. All of the staff was great, especially Joao, who gave us great recommendations. The shower was nice and big, unlike many of the hotels we stay in Europe. We also really liked they had a water filling station so we could keep filling our bottle every day. We appreciated the convenience of that and having less plastic waste than being given a couple of waters every day like many of the other hotels. We'd stay here again in a heartbeat!

What an amazing place. Everything you could possibly need is at a 5 minute walk, max. Train bus stations, restaurants, clothing stores, convenience stores. And the best atmosphere. Wow. Highly recommend, especially for those coming from the US like myself. It’s a great home base and the staff are super helpful.

Room was clean and a decent size. Did expect it to be a little bigger but that’s fine! They have toiletries in the bathroom which is great. (Shampoo & shower gel). There is a water cooler on every floor which was great! They provided a carafe which was just perfect. Air con in the room worked really well. Right opposite a metro station which was perfect. The staff were lovely and very welcoming which was really important to us. Overall highly reccomend!

Very nice hotel! The only concern is some of rooms have shower and a toilet separately and it’s super inconvenient. Also the kettle was located on the table but there was no way to plug it in right there. I had to bring it by my bed side where the closest socket was in order to boil some water to make myself a tea. Other than that my stay was excellent. I really liked the size of rooms (changed two different rooms as I extended my stay). Even the small room felt like it had space and was perfect for solo travelers. Clean sheets, comfy bed, great location.

1. The location is great. 2. Customer service is responsive. 3. The property will charge exorbitant charges for early check in. Most of the other locations in Spain did not charge or it was a manageable cost. 4. The check in time is 4 pm and the property will not give the room unless you pay extra money. Bad practice. 5. I would look for alternate accommodation if I travel again to Barcelona.

Great location and staff Reason for low rating for comfort is because the air conditioner was not efficient during the night time also the TV channels are in spanish only and not a smart TV so no YouTube etc The staff need to make clear to customers that drinking water is available through water fountains only located on floors 2&5 Otherwise we had a great stay and I would definitely consider return to this hotel
