Extremely disappointed- not what we expected
I rarely write reviews, but I had to share my experience at Vacation Village at Bonaventure. The unit we stayed in was in terrible condition, far from the "Superior" description.
Here are the main issues: poor cooking facilities - there was no proper place for our kids to cook. The only ventilation was a tiny vent under the microwave, which made it unsafe to cook. This was especially concerning since we were traveling with young children and needed a place to prepare meals. Safety concerns - the bedroom had a window with no screen, so we ended up with flies inside. To make matters worse, we were hesitant to leave the window open because small iguanas were roaming around the area. It didn’t feel safe or comfortable. We were told the unit had a queen-sized bed, but instead, there was only a double bed. This was a significant issue for us, as we were expecting more space for a restful sleep. The bathroom was in terrible condition. The sink was rusty, the bathtub was rough, and the floor throughout the unit (not just the bathroom) was in poor shape. I’ve attached photos to show just how bad it was. The drawer in the unit was so fragile that when we tried to use it, it came off the tracks. It was impossible to store anything, which was very frustrating (it wasn’t like in the video, a wooden drawer).
I really expected more from a vacation rental in such a popular area, and this was easily the worst experience I’ve had. I would not recommend this resort to anyone, and I certainly
