My husband and I and our two dogs had been robbed recently and we needed a quiet, safe and professionally run hotel space to lay our heads peacefully and securely in order to deal with the aftermath of the recent trauma and losses. Sadly I should have paid more attention as to gow mgmtdealt with guest issues (by both hotel and guest) when our toilet overflowed on Day 2/20. My wife had called the front desk several times for a plunger. No answer. Old hotel = old delicate pipes. When they didn’t answer she used an old truck by pouring a 12oz cup of scalding hot water into the bowl to break down the TP further. 100% unplug success rate upon flushing again as it worked for us that night. However the handle felt like it jammed and suddenly the water wouldn’t stop running and it was filling so quickly that before you know it, it was overflowing into the bathroom and then into the hallway. We could not find a way to shut off the water as they had taken the piece that was connected to that part of the toilet, so there was no way to shut it off. It was maddening as I kept calling the front desk and nobody answered. Not once. We left 4-5 VMs. 1 hr later John, the night staffer, who had checked us in a couple mornings earlier at the end of his graveyard shift knocked & thus began a challenging rm move.
