The public bits are all lovely. The breakfast was very good. The check in was all very smooth. The parking was free.
The room was disappointing. Very small, once nicely decorated but now with chipped paint, scratched walls and dingy bathroom which needed de-moulding. Pillows not great. But hey, if you're not spending a long time there, it did the job.
The lady working in the breakfast room looked very miserable to be there, but perhaps she was just having a bad morning. The chaps on reception were courteous, helpful and polite. The location was good if you're driving, but quite far from the centre - good for walking off all the chocolate!
All in all, it was fine, but not very special or friendly, which is a shame because it had the potential to be very nice indeed.
