I had the displeasure of experiencing being singled out because my partner and I are gay, travelled with a group of 90 people who were there to celebrate my nephew's wedding. I understood going in to Jamaica that we should not show any signs of public displays of affection, and we respected the islands backward laws...not even sleeping in the same bed every night of our vacation. But out of 90 visiting and staying at Moon palace, only 4 waited 3.5 hours to be checked into our rooms when check-in was 3pm. And all 4 were gay. Isn't that odd. And you might ask how they knew we were gay. After checking in, and during the 3.5 hours waiting to get in our room, we sat down and heard the "timeshare" spiel with one of Moon's employees, who mentioned she had my social media address already, then asked both my partner and I where our wives are this week. The same question was also asked to the other gay couple. Point is, they already knew. This was the start of our "One Love" vacation. So we spent $2000 on veiled homophobia. But still had great time with our families.
