Watch Your Credit Card Statements
Ours was a 1-night stay as we were passing through. Yes, there was some renovation going on, but it didn't affect us in the least; just a few large boxes sitting around. The room, pool area (with beautiful view of Lake Superior), and breakfast were all very nice. The gentleman who greeted us was super friendly and repeatedly asked if there was anything we needed, or what he could do to help us out. The only reason for not going with 5 stars - and this is big - we were charged twice! The reservation was made and paid for on Hotels.com, and pre-check-in was done on Hotels.com. Several days after returning home, we got our credit card bill and saw the charge from the website, AND a room-charge directly from AmericInn. Fortunately, I noticed. It took multiple attempts to reach someone who could fix it, but when I did, she took care of it immediately without any hassle. I couldn't help but notice that there wasn't really any apology either.
