Not what we requested!
It was our 11th anniversary and was hoping to go somewhere a little quieter. I thought this would be a good choice as Sylvan lake is usually a summer destination hot spot. I asked when booking my reservation for us to have our king room with a jet tub on the 4th floor away from the elevators and hopefully kinda away from people. I understand that sometimes we ask for things and will notbe able to receive. But, doesn't hurt to ask! The hotel wrote me back and stated that i would get what I had asked. Well, check in was not what I had asked. The front desk lady Charleigh was great and trying her best to fix someone elses mistake. They gave our room away to someone else. Then she gave us a room right outside of the elevator top floor. I am such a light sleeper, that would keep me up. Went back down and said, that room will not do. She then apologized immensely and tried getting us something else. I had agreed to a double queen just to go relax after driving through a snowstorm for 1.5 hrs. The 2 queen and it was nothing special. So I went back down and asked her to give me the parking lot view king, jetted tub.
I understand things happen and told her its ok! We took the room 202 which was right beside the stairwell but away from the elevator. We thought that will be good enough. Well, this hotel was full of hockey teams. Ugh! We were trying to get away from kids. They were running down the staircase shaking our room. Most of the night. 😞
