This was our first trip to Copenhagen and the hotel was in a great location away from the crowded touristy areas. It is a pleasant walk to Tivoli, Nyhavn and other areas of the city. Vesterbro has a lot of charm and character with plenty of restaurants, coffee shops and bakeries. There is an IKEA and a large mall minutes away as well.
Unfortunately there was confusion after check-in when we realised that we did not have the room we booked, only to be told our Junior Suite had been 'downgraded' and the website was not accurate in the types of rooms they show. It was past 10pm, the kids were tired, and the room we had been given was clearly not suitable for a family of 4. The staff tried their best to sort it out and were very friendly, although I wish this had been communicated beforehand since I had been in constant contact with the hotel. Had we not gone to complain, we would have never known which is rather annoying. We got an extra adjoining room and it didn't affect our stay.
I was also rather surprised that a hotel such as this doesn't have a kettle or a fridge in a standard room. These are only for higher category rooms which is beyond bizarre to me as a frequent traveller. The breakfasts were busy but had quite a good selection.
The lobby area has an incredible vibe, a place always buzzing with activity and also seemingly a popular worspace. Copenhagen is an amazing city and I would definitely visit again.
