Completely Satisfactory
We didn't have high expectations, as we knew we were booking the cheapest hotel we could find close to central Berlin, that still had doublebed rooms with a private shower and toilet, and included breakfast. Those were our requirements and they were met.
Even though the halways looked a bit shabby and the floors were squeaky, the room was nice enough and very properly cleaned every day. The breakfast menu included three types of bread, 4-5 cereal brands, yogurt, toppings such as ham, eggs and cheese, and of course tea, coffee, milk, and juices. Not the fanciest buffé but satisfied our needs.
We don't speak German, and none of the staff we met spoke english (which was kind of weird as everyone else in Berlin seemed to), but the little communication we had went fine anyway.
The Hotel, as the name suggests, is right by the Funkturm radio tower, which is on the western edge of Zone A in the Berlin transit system. We found out that ideally we would have liked to be closer to center, and the more charming easter parts of the city, but Kantstraße which we walked through on our way to town had a fun selection of small specialty stores, including hand made children's toys, bonsai trees, manga and corsets which made it a fun walk.
Recommended as well is the downstairs Mexican/spanish themed restaurant Paella, which had lovely food and happy hour on cocktails! All in all we had a good time, and found the hotelroom adequite for the price range we were looking for.
